Making portraits is a lot of fun. Putting people in a strange environment can cause confusion. In this collage that features famous Dutch actor Rutger Hauer I wanted to place the person in a abstract urban background.

The famous old painters painted their still-life’s and I create and carefully put together my still-life’s. Here I wanted to place  the assembled turntable-earphone in a surrealistic environment.

Just like musicians can sometimes play a cover I also like to do that sometimes with my collage’s. Here I used material by M.C Escher that i took out of these very famous yellow books containing Escher material to cut out and glue together to create all these wonderful objects. In this collage I did that with the utmost possible love and respect for mr Escher because he’s one of my all time favorite artists.

Just a playful little ‘still-life’ where the band and the composition of the background are important. The band is complete because the white figure hanging on the cross is mr John Bonham.

This collage is made on a real record sleeve and will be the ‘soundtrack’  to my exhibition. It will probably be available as a limited, signed and numbered canvas-print in a while. Here I tried to balance my lateral way of thinking ( for a while ) by creating a fixed structure in a sytemathic way. It’s very medative to cut out lots and lots of the same sized sqares…….not to mention after that glueing them all together. Actually this collage is called ‘ Muziekmosaiek nr 1 ‘ and I also made a nr 2 and a nr 3.

This work is a current favorite of mine. I had the three guys on their bikes sitting in my cupboard for lots and lots of years, waiting to be put in a big and beautiful and strange piece. Again the combination of black&white and colour is used.

In this collage I wanted to make something more graphic and moving at the same time. With the patterns in the ways of putting all the ‘jazz’ words together, I tried to create some movement, some motion. I also wanted to express my admiration of and big love for jazz-music.
